Pool Closing
POOL CLOSING INCLUDES
• Lowering of pool water level approximately 3” below the waterline tile if a solid cover is used and 18” from coping if a mesh cover is used
• Pool deck area blown off with leaf blower
• Removal of all ladders and rails
• ½ hour of leaf removal and skimming of pool surface with leaf net (excessive leaf removal will be billed at $70.00 per half hour)
• Backwash the filter
• Disassemble filter and clean filter grids/elements with hose and reinstall in filter tank for winter storage (DE and Cartridge filters)
• Winterize all underground pool plumbing by blowing the lines with compressed air and plugging the lines (plugs supplied by customer)
• Removal of all necessary drainage plugs from the filter equipment, heaters, etc.
• Removal of all baskets, eyeball fittings, pool cleaners, etc. and left for on-site storage
• Screw up all cover anchors (where applicable)
• Addition of (3) pounds of Cal Hypo chlorine shock (provided by Atlantic Pools)
• Addition of (1) quart of GLB Sequa-Sol stain and scale inhibitor (provided by Atlantic Pools)
• Addition of (2) quarts of Regal 60% algaecide (provided by Atlantic Pools)
• Test and adjust pH as necessary (billed additional if adjustment needed)
• Installation of winter cover
* Due to local laws regarding discharge and pumping down of pool water please do not shock your pool or add any chlorine tablets to skimmers within 10
days of your pool closing date. If you have a chlorine feeder or saltwater system please set the output to zero. This should allow the chlorine levels to drop
to the appropriate levels for discharge (Maryland must be 0 ppm, Virginia must be 1 ppm or less and D.C. must be pumped to sanitary sewer). If your
chlorine levels test above these levels we will have to reschedule your closing for the next available date.
**No fresh water sources will be winterized unless special arrangements have been made prior to closing
